If you are looking to get any of the following features, Combox Media retrofit* is what you will need:
Pre-requisites:
Plug and Play cable(s) for Combox is/are available: Installation of Combox Media requires you to take out TCU and/or MULF module(s) from your vehicle and replace it/them with Combox. If you are not too familiar with car stereo installations and are looking for a simple solution to replace these modules without the need to rewire any connectors, and manually terminate any wires, then this option is for you. Please choose the desired PNP cables in “PNP cables for Combox”. Otherwise, please chose the pin-out diagram.
Fine print: If your vehicle is currently equipped with the BMW Assist functionality and SOS systems (option 639 for USA and 633 for Europe) then both features will become permanently disabled after the Combox Media installation. You will no longer be able to use BMW Assist or SOS functions.
* Coding and configuring of your CIC head unit will be required. Bimmer Retrofit can perform the required coding and configuring remotely at no additional charge (one-time 1 hour session is included). If you do chose to use our free comlimentary coding service for this item, note that in case of F-series BMW, you will need to have ENET cable for remote coding - in case of E-series BMW, you will need to have ICOM A+B+C or OPS. Access to internet enabled router and port configuring will be required; you will absolutely need assistance of an IT specialist to properly set-up a remote connection.
